Representative Cole Hefner, of the Texas House of Representatives asked us if we had any students that could decorate a Christmas ornament. Each year, House Members are invited to select a constituent to imagine and create a visual representation of what makes our Texas House District special. The artistic endeavor - in the form of an ornament - will decorate a majestic, Texas-grown Christmas tree that will stand in the House Chamber of the Texas Capitol during the holiday season. Now back for its twelfth year, the district ornament project has proven to be a fun, educational, and much anticipated experience for the Capitol's thousands of holiday visitors.
Two of our high school students, Aryana Villeda and Maria Arreola, took on the project and did an amazing job. Aryana chose to paint the Prayer Tower and Maria chose the old truck by Efurd Orchards.
