DECA

State CDC is in the books for 2020. We are so proud of this awesome group of DECA kids who advanced to state and competed this weekend. Everyone came home a winner...those who made it to the stage as well as those who didn’t. The experiences, lessons, confidence, and much more will be used as building blocks for their future, whether it was preparing and competing, serving in a leadership duty, networking and meeting new people, or caucusing and voting in a new officer team.

Our students did a great job representing Pittsburg, competing at the largest ever DECA state conference.
These members have put in countless hours of studying and preparation over the last several months and the competition continues to get bigger and tougher each year.

We are excited to share our members who made it to the stage this year as finalists, and are alternates for the upcoming international conference:
•Julianna Sewell & Marandy Burrow with their Project Management Sales Project
•Erik Enriquez with his Project Management Business Solutions Project
•Samantha Torres in Hospitality & Tourism Professional Selling

Our chapter was also recognized as a Thrive chapter, receiving recognition in the following categories:
•Community Service Campaign, led by Julianna Sewell
•Promotional Campaign, led by Erik Enriquez
•Global Entrepreneurship Week Campaign, led by Kate Sansom

Additionally, two members were recognized as scholarship recipients:
•Julianna Sewell, $1,000 Texas DECA Scholarship
•Marandy Burrow, $1,000 Texas DECA Leadership Scholarship

Lastly, the conference was even better being led by our own Marandy Burrow, Texas DECA VP of Leadership Development. She did an exceptional job leading the conference with her team and definitely made Pittsburg proud!
